Isabella Ross
Opening its doors in 1955, Kelly’s Office Furniture has been a staple business within the Northern Beaches for over 60 years. Moving into its third generation of family members, Sydney Observer sat down with Isabella Harbutt to discuss the history of the business and its success.
Their History
“In 1955, the business primarily dealt with army disposals. David Harbutt brought the office furniture side of the company into action in 1985, beginning in a garage with only a handful of second hand filing cabinets, desks and chairs next door to the Kelly’s disposals shop,” revealed Isabella.
Now transformed into a shop in Dee Why consisting of new office furniture with three levels of showrooms, and a second hand shop and warehouse in Brookvale with another two levels of second hand showrooms, there is no question that it has been highly successful.
“All of the Kelly’s Office Furniture staff have been with us for a long period of time, which really represents the family atmosphere we aspire to achieve here. It also highlights the level of experience and expertise that we are able to exercise.”
Their Work
To meet their entire customer’s office furniture needs, Isabella noted that the business has a highly experienced team.
“What sets us apart is our superior customer service and office furniture knowledge. Most importantly, we are extremely eager to gratify your office furniture needs.”
