Turku to Stockholm aboard Tallink Silja Line’s Baltic Princess

Europe is fairly seamless to get around. Trains, flights, buses – all these can pretty much be booked on the day and paid for with the cash you find at the bottom of your bag, or pockets, if you’ve got big enough pockets.
However, Scandinavia is a little wilder. It’s got long stretches of uninhabited land, more extreme weather, brushes with the Arctic Circle, and generally less transport options.
This makes traveling through Scandinavia trickier than the rest of Europe. But there are some options which make the longer journeys very pleasurable.
Tallink Silja Line, the leading European provider of leisure, business travel and sea transportation services in the Baltic Sea region, offer an array of different cruises. The ships are completely decked out with everything you need – multiple restaurants, pubs, shopping, entertainment and wellness/relaxation services.
The journey I took was from Turku (Finland) to Stockholm (Sweden), through the huge archipelago network littered between them.
The ship sailed overnight and I stayed in a deluxe cabin with an ocean view. It was a fantastic way to travel while saving time, and the accommodation was far nicer than almost anything you could get on land. I got the benefit of being able to wake up in a new country having not sacrificed comfort for traveling through the night.
In the morning I sat down to a buffet breakfast which was a mix of fresh hot breakfast classics, continental and fruit, cold cuts and deli selections, and of course, lots of coffee. I went directly for the meatballs because when in Sweden, I’ve heard you go meatballs or go home.
Tallink Silja Line also offer round trip cruises so you can explore places like Helsinki and Tallinn. They have eventful departures everyday. For more information and to book, visit their website at https://www.tallink.com.
